Resident Case Worker (Nights)
Men’s Mission is hiring a Full-Time Night Shift Resident Care Worker. This role will facilitate the intake process and provide ongoing care and support to participants within the Men’s Mission. The position will be supervised by the Direct Care Supervisor.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Registration of new and returning participants.
- Orientation of new participants.
- Monitoring (i.e.: conflict intervention and resolution, security, etc.) and support (i.e.: responding to the needs of residents, crisis intervention, listening, etc.).
- Administration of medications.
- Appropriate and accurate record keeping.
- Respond to incoming phone calls and inquiries at the front door by transferring calls/inquiries appropriately or providing direct service.
- Greet all visitors and oversee the sign-in / sign-out process.
- Communicate concerns or incidents promptly to the Supervisor and/or Senior RCW.
- Distribution and proper record keeping of the Guest Meal program.
Qualifications:
- Graduate of Secondary School (Community College preferred)
- Experience working within a social service agency
- Physically fit, as some lifting may be required (20+ lbs.)
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Good listening skills
- Flexibility and a willingness to respond to the needs of those in the shelter
- Ability to work both independently and as a member of a team
- Current First Aid/CPR and CPI certificates (asset)
- Second language skills (asset)
