Donor Tax Receipts for 2025 Giving

Thank you for your donation to Mission Services of London in 2025!

Below, you’ll find answers to common questions about your 2025 charitable giving tax receipt. If you need further assistance, our Donor Relations Assistant is happy to help by phone at 519‑433‑2807 ext. 2120 or by email at donorhelp [at] missionservices.ca (donorhelp[at]missionservices[dot]ca).

How and when can I expect my tax receipt?

For most avenues of giving, Mission Services of London issues one consolidated tax receipt each year in February, covering gifts received between January 1 and December 31 of the previous year.

Due to the postal strike at the end of 2024, the Canada Revenue Agency introduced a special circumstance allowing gifts received between January 1, 2025, and February 28, 2025, to be claimed, at the donor’s discretion, on either their 2024 or 2025 tax return.

As a result, Mission Services of London issued tax receipts for 2025 at two different times:

  • March 2025 for gifts received between January 1, 2025, and February 28, 2025.
  • February 2026 for gifts received between March 1, 2025, and December 31, 2025.

Accordingly, the consolidated tax receipts issued in February 2026 will include gifts made between March 1, 2025, and December 31, 2025.

If you require another copy of your March 2025 tax receipt (for gifts given between January 1, 2025, and February 28, 2025), please contact our Donor Relations Assistant by phone, at 519-433-2807 ext. 2120, or by email, at donorhelp [at] missionservices.ca (donorhelp[at]missionservices[dot]ca)

If you made a gift to Mission Services of London by mailing a cheque or money order, providing credit card information on a response device, calling in your donation, or giving monthly through pre-authorized debit, you can expect your consolidated tax receipt for donations made between March 1, 2025, and December 31, 2025, to be mailed to your address in February 2026.

I made my donation online, and/or I donate monthly. How do I get my tax receipt?

If you donate monthly, your tax receipt is issued each month on the date of your donation and is included in the confirmation email thanking you for your donation. You can also access your receipts anytime through the Fundraise Up Donor Portal, as described above. Starting January 1, 2026, your monthly donation receipts will be consolidated once per year. You will still retain full access to your individual receipts through the Fundraise Up Donor Portal.

When are tax receipts issued immediately?

Mission Services of London issues tax receipts immediately for four different circumstances:

  1. Gifts-in-Kind: A tax receipt for your gift-in-kind donation will be mailed to you shortly after your donation is made if you supply the supporting documents, such as a purchase receipt, at the time of your donation.
  2. Gifts of Securities: A tax receipt for gifts of securities is issued immediately once the transaction is processed, and will be sent to you in the mail.
  3. Estates: A tax receipt will be issued to the Estate if Mission Services of London is named as a beneficiary of a bequest.
  4. Preference for Immediate Receipting: If you have indicated to Mission Services of London that you would like a tax receipt for every donation you make, we will honour your preference and issue receipts accordingly.

Does Mission Services of London sell or exchange my information when I donate?

No. Mission Services of London acknowledges and respects that your giving is a private matter, and we are grateful that you’ve entrusted us with your gift. We do not sell or exchange donor lists with other charities. The information you provide when donating is used solely to process your gift, issue tax receipts, and communicate with you about your support and our programs.
