Alex Verdun

Alex Verdun is a professional engineer with over 20 years of experience in fire protection engineering, currently serving as Senior Engineer at Northern Sprinkler Design Inc. With a background in mechanical engineering, Alex also brings 25 years of product design and development expertise across multiple sectors, including automotive, water treatment, medical, and consumer products. 

A graduate of the University of Waterloo with a Bachelor of Applied Science in Mechanical Engineering, Alex holds his P.Eng designation and is known for his ability to break down complex issues into actionable components. Beyond his technical skill set, he brings a spiritual gift of discernment and a thoughtful, balanced perspective to his leadership roles. 

Alex has served on the Board of Directors at Mission Services of London since 2014, viewing it as an opportunity to give back and use his skills and gifts to benefit others. His governance experience spans more than three decades and includes board and leadership roles with Mission Services of Hamilton, Westburne Alliance Church in St. Catharines, West London Alliance Church, and West Park Baptist Church in London, where he and his wife Carole, are active members. 

Rooted in his Christian faith, Alex’s leadership journey began during his high school and university years, where he was mentored in both spiritual growth and service. He remains committed to using his time and talents to support organizations that care for people during challenging seasons of life. 

In his free time, Alex enjoys reading historical fiction, books on leadership, and listening to podcasts. He also has a deep love for the outdoors, particularly canoeing, and is currently building a cabin in the French River area, a long-held personal dream.
