Volunteer

Want to help? It’s a great way to make a difference in the lives of others. Volunteers are a much appreciated, integral part of the work of Mission Services of London. Below is a list of some of the ways volunteers contribute the gift of time to help those in need. If you are interested in volunteering, please fill out a volunteer application or contact our Volunteer Co-ordinator at (519) 433-2807.

All kinds of opportunities exist for those of you who want to make a difference – from painting to gardening to small handyman jobs, from selling Homes for Hope pins to answering phones to photocopying, from organizing fundraising events to sorting clothing to cleaning rooms, from teaching computer skills to preparing meals to running children’s parties...the list is endless.

SOME CURRENT NEEDS

Activity hour volunteers at Rotholme Women's and Family Shelter (Tuesdays, Wednesday, Thursdays, or Fridays 6:30pm-9:00pm)
Various positions at the Mission Store:
Fine Sorter – physically able to lift heavy bags and boxes
     - Monday afternoons (1:00 – 4:30)
Rough Sorter – physically able to lift heavy bags and boxes
     - Tuesday afternoons (1:00 – 4:30)
Store Clerk – with excellent interpersonal skills and confidence
     - Tuesday mornings (9:00 – 1:00)
Fine Sorter – physically able to lift heavy bags and boxes
     - Friday afternoons (1:00 – 4:30)
Canteen volunteer at the Men's Mission and Rehabilitation Centre (Wednesdays, Thursdays or Saturdays 6pm-9pm)
Head Office help throughout the Fall/Winter season (Clerical)
PNA bag preparation at the Men's Mission and Rehabilitation Centre

2010 MSL Fall Banquet

Mission Services of London's Annual Fall Banquet will be held on Thursday October 28, 2010 at the Lamplighter Inn in the Crystal Ballroom, 591 Wellington Road South. The evening will begin with reception and silent auction at 5:30 p.m.; dinner at 6:30 p.m.
