SCAN AWAY HUNGER

Your donation of $3.11 will buy one meal for someone in need at one of our branches.  Scan Away Hunger is an initiative of Mission Services of London in partnership with generous community partners throughout the London area in the months of November and December. 


Londoners are encouraged to add $3.11 (or multiples thereof) to their bills whenever they are shopping at Valumart, Giant Tiger or Sobeys. The campaign has run for more than ten years and has provided over 250,000 meals for those in need. In 2008 the Scan Away Hunger Campaign raised more than 29,000 meals for men, women and children in Mission Services of London shelters.

Did you know?

If you collect your grocery receipts identifying your donations to Scan Away Hunger, you can send them to us along with your name and address, and we will mail you a tax receipt for the total amount of Mission Meals that appear on the receipts.

Our "Scan Away Hunger 2009" Campaign is over for another year!  Mission Services of London would like to extend a big thank you to the community for their tremendous Support!  With the help of diligent staff at North London Sobeys, Wortley Valu-Mart, Oxford Valu-Mart, Giant Tiger Southdale, Giant Tiger Springbank, and Giant Tiger Huron were able to provide 12,028 meals for the homeless and less fortunate in London.

We are excited because even though we are experiencing some tough economic times, we were blessed by the community's desire to provide for those whom need it most.

We are looking forward to the 2010 campaign and are working hard at expanding our partnership to other local grocers.  Our 15th annual Scan Away Hunger campaign will be a great one with the help from our community; together we can make a difference in the lives of individuals suffering from homelessness and poverty in London!
