BUSINESS / CORPORATE

The business and professional sector in London is truly an amazing caring community. All the branches of Mission Services are annually blessed by the generous thoughtful contributions of these organizations – from gifts in kind, to offering of services…. from employee donations to willing hands of a work group…the list goes on. We wish we could list them all.
There are hundreds of ways you can step up to offer a much needed hand to those in need. Please contact our
Director of Development and Communications  for more information as to how your business can be involved.

Some recent examples:

  • Healthcare Materials Management Services recently raised over $10, 000 to equip the GATHERING PLACE with a large TV/VCR/DVD and the Resource Room (at the Men’s Mission / Community Mental Health Programs), with 4 computers and desks and the necessary internet connections. This equipment allows the men to seek out suitable accommodation, compose resumes, apply for employment – all helping to assist our clientele to achieve their goals more effectively.
  • In the spring, the London and District Dental Health Association supplied 500 oral health kits for the Men’s Mission and Rotholme. Each kit contained a toothbrush, dental floss and toothpaste.
  • Forest City Fire Protection offered to help supply Christmas presents this season to the families at Rotholme Women’s & Family Shelter and the clients at Quintin Warner House. Their staff will also be volunteering in the preparation and the serving of the QWH annual Christmas Dinner for current residents and alumni of Quintin Warner House. Monthly giving opportunities will be offered to staff on a payroll deduction basis, through the ADOPT-A-PLATE program, where the Employer will match the contribution made by a staff member.
  • The Real Canadian Superstore, Sobeys, Loblaws, Giant Tiger, and Valumart stores have all been great corporate local partners in our annual ScanAway Hunger project. The enthusiasm and support of local store managers and staff make all the difference to the annual success of this drive which raises over $85,000 annually to provide more than 32,000 meals for those in shelter.
  • Fodemesi Shoes, is providing not only donation of shoes for those in need, but also the services to make sure that they fit properly. They are kicking this off with 40 + pairs, which will see their first use as the centrepieces for our Fall Celebration Banquet Fund Raiser, before being re-boxed and given to those in need.
  • This Christmas Season, many employers are opting to purchase meals at one or all of our shelters for the day or one of the three daily meals, as a way of saying Thanks to their many Customers and Suppliers. Forest City Fire and Protection is for the second year in a row sending out Christmas Cards to their suppliers and customers, sharing their thanks and appreciation, with those homeless and disadvantaged in our community.

We are so grateful for each and every donation – it does make a real difference.
